Victoria University has consolidated its research activity. From 2018 research of the Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering (CESARE) is located within the Institute for Sustainable & Liveable Cities.

We offer research and fire testing opportunities at facilities our Werribee campus for applications in fire safety engineering.


The Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering (CESARE) carries out research on the spread of smoke and fire in buildings, fire extinguishment and the way structures respond to fire. 

Our academic and research staff have experience in areas of structural behaviour and design, heat transfer, mechanical systems, human behaviour in fire, risk assessment, management and detection systems and environmentally sustainable building design.
