Dr Gitesh Raikundalia is an academic with the College of Sport, Health & Engineering. Gitesh previously worked at Southern Cross University and Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. He has had several roles at VU, including Postgraduate Research Coordinator, Academic Coordinator (Research & Research Training), Seminar Coordinator, Honours Coordinator, etc, and has been a member of numerous committees, such as Faculty Postgraduate Research Committee, Faculty Courses Committee, Candidature Review Committees. He has twice been chair of the Australasian Document Computing Symposium and has been on several conference programme committees and journal review committees.

Gitesh has conducted research primarily in the areas of computer supported cooperative work (e.g. electronic meetings, collaborative document authoring, group awareness), health informatics (e.g. hospital simulation, multi-disciplinary team meetings for cancer care) and software engineering (e.g, scenario-based design) as well as areas like intelligent agents and data mining. He has received over $850,000 in research and teaching grant funding and has published over 80 research papers in the above areas of interest.
