Jennifer Byrne

Lecturer Dermal Science and Therapy, College of Health & Biomedicine

Jennifer Byrne lectures in dermal therapies for the College of Health & Biomedicine, and is currently the external placements coordinator. This role involves liaising with industry to develop opportunities and manage external clinical placements within health care, including plastics and community health care.

Since joining Victoria University in 2007, Jennifer has experience in course development and renewal as well as collaborative project/research proposal development within the dermal science area. Her teaching focuses on the clinical and interdisciplinary aspects of dermal practice. She coordinated the dermal teaching clinic from 2007-2009 and 2013-2014, and has lectured in several units with a clinical focus, specialising in the area of lymphatic/wound biology and management.

Jennifer has been a dermal clinician for the past 8 years, previously having worked in the cosmetic/beauty industry. She has a special interest in developing expertise and specialisation in the areas of skin integrity management and client education, particularly related to chronic disease and cancer.

Jennifer is currently completing a Master of Science Research in the area of lymphatics with Victoria University.
