: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Conceptually map key theoretical project management frameworks and apply them to a range of project management scenarios, taking into consideration social, cultural, environmental and economic factors;

Plan, apply and implement research methods to investigate complex project management problems in order to generate solutions;

Design, develop and implement comprehensive project management plans which meet stakeholder expectations;

Critically analyse organisational contexts, governance, ethical, legal and regulatory requirements and risk management when applying fundamental project management principles in a real life situation;

Justify and interpret theories, methodologies, recommendations and professional decisions, and communicate with specialist and non-specialist stakeholders utilising a variety of professional oral and written forms; and

Integrate professional standards into their practice and professional development.

Entry requirements

When assessing your application, we consider your education, work experience, current skills and personal attributes (where relevant).

Applicants for this course will need to meet the entry criteria outlined below. If you don’t meet the entry criteria, you may be able to gain entry by first completing a different course. We call this a ‘pathway’.

For PhD applicants, we offer a related ‘Integrated PhD’ which allows you to establish relevant skills before beginning your research.

You may also be eligible for course ‘credits’, where you are granted a unit or units towards your qualification for equivalent previous study or work experience, so you can graduate sooner.

Course Structure

To attain the Master of Project Management, students will be required to complete 192 credit points, consisting of:

96 credit points of Core studies;
96 credit points of Elective studies.

AIPM endorsement

The Master of Project Management course is endorsed by Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).

Upon the completion of the endorsed qualification and joining AIPM as an Associate or Member, students are entitled to automatic recognition for AIPM’s Certified Practising Project Practitioner (CPPP).
