Bachelor of Laws

Ante Sentić did not believe he would ever get the chance to study or practise law, but the 2016 valedictorian made the most of his chance and has already been recognised at various levels for his achievements.

"I chose to study law at Victoria University as I thought it would be a great pathway into a career at Victoria Police. I was really drawn to the culture and focus VU had on clinical programs and industry networks for its students.

I was fortunate enough to undertake a number of unique internships, including with the Magistrates’ Court Program, the County Court Program, Brimbank-Melton Community Legal Centre, Sunshine Youth Legal Centre and Victoria Police Prosecutions.

The endless opportunities provided by VU, along with my hard work and dedication to my studies and career, led me to successfully obtaining a seasonal clerkship and then a graduate lawyer position at Hall & Wilcox Lawyers.

VU’s unique approach in its delivery of the study of law through its focus on practical learning and engagement with industry connections provided me with a great exposure in the legal industry and on the various career options available in the highly competitive industry.

It has been an honour to be named a Brimbank Citizen of the Year finalist and nominated for the Victorian Young Achiever Awards, as well as being a valedictorian."
