This unit introduces students to the fundamental concepts, issues and benefits of information systems to organisations and individuals. Students begin to investigate the nature and types of information systems, their impact on business processes, and how these systems and processes contribute towards an organisation’s competitive advantage. Students develop skills in the management of data and information through the use of personal productivity tools. Students will work collaboratively to research and communicate their understanding of information systems in discussions and written assignments. Students will spend time in a supported environment to develop skills and abilities to enable them to transition into further study and the workplace.
