CEO, Law Institute, presenting at Dean's seminar

Nerida Wallace – CEO, Law Institute of Victoria since 2014, will deliver the second presentation in the College of Law and Justice Dean's seminar series.
The series will focus on the theme: ‘The future of the legal profession – Where are we going?’.
Nerida's presentation will address the following topics:
- Tthe importance of professional connection in a digital world
- New ways to work and prosper
- Trends in regulation.
Nerida Wallace was appointed CEO of the Law Institute of Victoria in October 2014, officially embedding herself at the centre of Victoria’s legal system and becoming the first woman in the position.
Nerida’s life in the law began as a clerk of courts at Brighton at age 17 and was the first woman to undertake the clerk of courts exams.
After working in the courts, Nerida moved to the police ministry, the Family Court, the banking sector and was the inaugural solicitor for the first banking ombudsman in the early 1990s.
Up until her appointment as the CEO of the Law Institute of Victoria, Nerida was the principal of Transformation Management Services, a consulting firm she had established in 1992 with her partner.
Her work involved advising clients, including:
- law firms
- industry associations
- government departments
- courts and dispute resolution bodies, including, the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service
- WorkCover agencies
- Magistrates courts
- the federal and state Attorney-Generals’ departments on change management and practice development.
The driving force for Nerida is getting results and achieving change – making a difference.
