About Elmira Jamei
Dr Elmira Jamei is Associate Professor in Built Environment at College of Sport, Health and Engineering, and Associate Director Engagement and Impact at Institute for Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities (ISILC). She is also the Deputy Director for Green Research Translation at ISILC.
Elmira has worked for 10 years as a project leader, and key researcher in several national and international collaborative projects within Asia, Australia, and Middle East.
Her strong track record in Sustainability and Built Environment is evident from the awards she has received; (e.g., 'Vice Chancellor's Citation Award for Excellence in Research and Research Training' , 'Graham Treloar Research Prize', Citation for Learning and Teaching Excellence' and 'Collaborative research prize' from Chinese Academy of Science.
Elmira brings a substantial knowledge base and practical skills in Sustainable Built Environment, Smart Cities, and Climate Sensitive and Water Sensitive Design. She has also led and coordinated a number of projects in the area of Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Urban Thermal Balance and Energy Performance of Buildings.
Elmira’s research expertise has been also well recognised with industry funded projects. The most recent projects she is involved as LCI are 'Green our rooftop', funded by DELWP and City of Melbourne, and 'Adaptive greening solutions to tackle climate change', funded by Council for Australia Arab Relations (CAAR).
